Terms of use
The rules for using Fridgedoor, in plain English. By creating an account, you agree to them.
These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and [TO CONFIRM: operator's legal name] (IČO [TO CONFIRM: IČO]), [TO CONFIRM: registered address], who runs Fridgedoor (“we”). Our privacy policy explains what we do with your data.
What Fridgedoor is
Fridgedoor is an app for people who share a home: a shared shopping list, store runs and the other things a home keeps on the fridge door. The shared lists and store runs are free. Fridgedoor Plus adds extra features for everyone in a home.
Plus and early access
- Plus isn't on sale yet. Until it is, a home can ask for early access in the app. We decide on each request ourselves and may say no.
- If we approve it, everyone in that home gets Plus free for the period we tell you. Early access is free while it lasts.
- We will never charge you automatically. Early access doesn't turn into a paid subscription by itself.
- Plus will become a paid subscription later. We'll tell you before early access ends, and you choose whether to subscribe.
- When Plus is on sale in the App Store, you'll buy it through Apple, and Apple's terms cover the payment, renewal and refunds. You'll see the price before you buy.
Your account
- You sign in with Apple or with a link we email you.
- You need to be at least [TO CONFIRM: minimum age] to use Fridgedoor.
- Keep your phone and your email secure. If you think someone else is using your account, tell us.
- One account is for one person.
Homes and what you share
- Anyone with a valid invite code can join a home, so share codes only with people you want in.
- Everything added to a home (items, notes, store runs and its name) is visible to everyone in that home, and they can change or remove it.
- You're responsible for what you add.
- What you add stays yours. You allow us to store it, sync it and show it to the people in your home, only so that Fridgedoor works.
Using it fairly
Please don't:
- use Fridgedoor to break the law, or add content that's illegal, hateful or harassing, or that infringes other people's rights;
- try to get into homes you weren't invited to, or into other people's accounts;
- disrupt, overload or probe the service, or copy or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows;
- access it with bots or scripts, or resell it;
- use invites to send spam.
If someone does, we may remove the content or suspend the account.
Changes and availability
Fridgedoor is new. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but it's provided as it is, and there may be interruptions or bugs. Changes made offline sync when your phone is back online, so the others may see them later. We may change, add or remove features. If a change takes away something important, we'll tell you in advance.
Ending your account
You can stop using Fridgedoor at any time. To delete your account, open Settings in the app and choose Delete account. Homes you share stay with the other members, without your name on the things you added; homes only you are in are deleted. The privacy policy has the details.
We may suspend or end an account for serious or repeated breaches of these terms. Where we can, we'll tell you why first. If we ever shut Fridgedoor down, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to get a copy of your data.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, or for losses caused by things outside our control, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for Fridgedoor in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, and nothing in them affects your rights as a consumer.
App Store
If you got Fridgedoor from the App Store, your licence to use the app is Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA). These terms cover the Fridgedoor service. Apple isn't responsible for Fridgedoor or its support; questions come to us.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by [TO CONFIRM: the laws of the Czech Republic]. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim there. If something's wrong, please email us first: most things can be sorted out quickly.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Fridgedoor grows. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you in the app before a change that matters takes effect. If you don't agree, you can delete your account before then.
